Make It Monday #56

The joys of working one weekend a month at a local stamp store.  This is one of the samples I made for the shop.  I just love the twigs with the spider web in the middle.  I colored the twigs with marker and then stamped on watercolor paper.  I softened the lines with a damp brush and added glitter to the web.  The spider is a stone that I added legs to.  This is my entry this week at Make it Monday

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge # 122

This is a sympathy card that I made for a friend.   All the paper came from The Paper Temptress.   The gate image and base card are done with Neenah Supersmooth Ivory. This paper is great to use for colored pencils. The accent for the main image is Basis Green. The layer that everything is attached to is Basis Light Green. The lattice is done in a deep purple that has a wonderful glitter look (sorry the picture didn't pick that up --- the picture does however show the great deep purple color). This cardstock is called Violet Mica Metallic. The Violet Mica Metallic is one of the new papers at Paper Temptress. The sketch for this card actually came from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge

Make it Monday #55

I was working a couple of weeks ago at a local stamp store.  When it is not busy she lets us make cards for samples.  The image just called out to the colored pencils. I also am finding that I love the use a stamp positioner.  After coloring if something is not as distinct as you want it you can restamp several times until you get the definition that you want.  So Make it Monday here us your card for the week

MMSC #121

Here is my card for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge this week.  I am trying my hand on doing stamping that looks like water coloring.  I colored the stamp with markers.  I did each color separately and used a stamp positioner to keep the image intact.  I stamped on water color paper and once stamped softened the lines with water and a water color brush.  I need to practice, but love the look.

Totally Gorjuss #97

I made this card for a guy at work.  The theme at Totally Gorjuss was it's a man thing.  A while we went to a scrap convention and there was a make and take where you printed your picture on acetate and then layered it into your card.  I love taking pictures so I loved the idea.  This picture came from our Michigan vacation this summer.

Make It Monday #54

Here is my card to show at Make it Monday.  It is a card for the 21st birthday of a guy at work.  I used the technique called Whimsy Background from Technique Junkies for the background.  I usually don't like cards that don't mail well, but on this one I added some curly ribbon because I know I am going to give it to him at work. The background stamp is an old one from Stampin' Up.

Stampin Daisies #2 and Do You Stack Up #36

The sketch for this card came from Stampin Daisies.  Also the challenge at DYSU was texture.  I think this card will work for both.  Most of the elements for this card were pieces I received in swaps.  The embossed background was a embossed swap and the splatter background was a background swap.  The ribbon was some extra ribbon someone sent with a card.  I have a real problem using my stash of stuff sometime.  This time I just decided to go for it.

Make it Monday #53---Using a stamp positioner

Last week I was working at a local stamp shop and put together this card.  I have decided I do not use a stamp posiitoner enough.  This stamp did not jump out me, but wanted to make a sample for the store.  I used a stamp positioner and stamped a light color of distress ink twice.  I then put a medium shade in places on the stamp and stamped again.  I then took a dark color and put it in places and stamped again.  I did like the results I got and will definitely try this sort of look again.  Distress ink was also used on the sentiment tag.  She had some new ribbon that also set things off.  I love the Make it Monday blog for sharing my cards.  There is no theme---just share

MMSC #119 and Totally Gorjuss #96

The stamp I used for this card is from Viva Los VegasStamps.  The sketch I used is from Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge and Totally Gorjuss.  I colored the M & M Person with copic markers and colored pencils.  You can't see it, but I added black glitter to the eyes and red glitter to the mouth.  Also clear gel pen was added to the M and to the eyes.  I just love this image.
