Make it Monday #167

Getting in the Christmas spirit a little early this year.  A couple of weeks ago I had to make samples for Paper Temptress of a paper pack she was having on special.  It is sort of nice to have several cards and projects done. This was one of the projects.  Thought this would work for Make it Monday

I will also say that I own a Scor Pal and don't use it as I should.  If you go to the Scor Pal site they have a bunch of directions there using the Scor Pal.  This was called Pockelope.

2 Sisters Challenge #169 --Christmas Sparkle

Sorry I have been a little lax at posting cards lately.  Time has been limited and the cards are getting made just not posted.  I am on the Design Team and Paper Temptress and made this card for my post last Friday. Found this to be perfect for the challenge at 2 Sisters Challenge Blog.

The base for the card is Solar White Linen, so it has a bit of texture to it.  The gold is Gold Metallic Glossy and the red is Treasures Cardinal Red.  The snowflakes are all from a set from Inkadinkado called Snowflakes a Plenty.  The Season's Greetings is also a set from Inkadinkado called Greetings/Salutations.

The gold is definitely glitzy and the snowflake in the middle was stamped in gold and them embossed with glitter.

Operation Write Home Blog Hop

Here is the badge.

Hello Hopper! Thank you sooo much for coming by!

We brought our creativity together in the hopes that we would inspire you to join us (DT members) in doing a good deed!

Most of you know our Boys and Gals from the armed forces are deployed all over the world. Sometimes these men and woman are in places that make it very hard, or they’re far away from anywhere that they can pick up a sweet card to send a quick note home. Luckily, they have OPERATION WRITE HOME (OWH). OWH is a non-profit organization that sends special boxes filled with cards to soldiers all over the world. How can you help OWH keep the good deed going? Making cards!!! Yes! OWH angels receive tons of handmade cards from crafters all over the world, then they check and organize cards to be sent out to our soldiers. Take a look at some of their own words about OWH packs:

Now we would love for you to join us to help OWH. We thought it would be amazing fun to do a blog hop to inspire you! Design Teams from PaperTemptress, Oozak and Color me Creative Class will join together in one amazing Card Drive HOP. The fun just gets better! You can join in by making a project (following OWH – size and safety guidelines), entering a picture of the project on the hop inlinkz (One project linked per person please) then mailing the project to us. We would loooove it if you could send as many as you can by November 7th (we will screen them and send all of them to OWH) . You could win super prizes from amazing, super generous sponsors!!! YES!! You do a good deed and you also can win a sweet gift!!!

Thank you to our sponsors

Here is my card for the hop.  First let's start off with the image.  The cute little clown came from A Day For Daisies.  I just loved this image because I could see a mom or a dad sending this card home to their little girl or boy.
Now let me tell you about all the wonderful cardstock used for this card.  The image is a digital image and was printed on Heavenly White.  The base card and the scalloped oval is Spearmint Pop Tones.  The background layer is Safari Brown Skinny Columns.  The pearly cardstock on the right with the dots embossed is Starburst Glichen Glimmer.  The golden cardstock is Butternut Treasures.

♥♥♥

It’s time to HOP around. Leave little note as you pass by these lovely designers’ blogs! Don’t forget to add you project to the inlinkz at the end of the Hop! You will also find the address to mail your cards at the end of the hop. You can Hop throughout the month of October. This way everyone in their own time can hop and join in!

From the Heart for OWH

Hi all, this is  another card to add for Operation Write Home. The cardstock was given to the design team at Paper Temptress.   The base for this card is Safari Brown Skinny Columns.  The image is stamped on Cryogen and colored with copic markers. The swirly background paper is Hamby Screen Print.  You can get this in a 6x6 package .  The link to the package that contains this Screen Printer is here.  The pretty orange accent is Butternut Treasures.

I did add some pearl accent to the flowers.

OWH Thinking of you

This is a rather simple card, but I love the look.  I just love embossing folders.  I left a small area
unembossed so that I could put my sentiment there.

Make it Monday #157 and Totally Gorjuss #200

This is a layered card that I made a little while ago.  I have a large stamp from Hero of the wheat.   I love using this stamp and then taking a Spellbinders die and cutting a hole for my main image.  The challenge at Totally Gorjuss this week is anything goes.  Also want to enter this card at Make it Monday.

Make it Monday #156

Trying to get back to posting after vacation.  We were in New York last week.  Oh my did we see some great scenery.  We visited 4 waterfalls. My cousins granddaughter loves bugs so I made this card to send to her.  The background is a technique from Technique Junkies called Distressed Rainbow Strips.  I added Pearlex to the bugs to give them shimmer.  Thought this would work for Make it Monday.

Make it Monday #154

This is a card that I did for Paper Temptress recently.  This  card uses some of the Solar White Skinny Columns .  What better way to accent the columns than to stamp a stripe on it?  This stamp is called Circles and Lines from Penny Black.  I highlighted the dots with stickles.  The column piece was layered on Epic Black to make it pop. The flowers were stamped on Vintage Silver Lustre which also has a slight line pattern to it.  I stamped the flowers with a variegated stamp pad because I wanted a lot of color in this card.  This stamp set is from Stampin' Up  and is called Flower Shop.  It also has a matching punch. This works for my Make it Monday entry this week.

Make it Monday #153

I am not one to typically use bright colors , but this card just came together.  I used a technique from Technique Junkies called Flocked Lines.  The idea is to take a stamped image that has bold lines to it and add flocking to the bold lines.  Thought this would work for my entry at Make It Monday this week

Make it Monday #152

This is a card I made a while back.  I don't use designer paper very often, but it worked with this card.  The background paper with the writing is vellum.  I just love this stamp and the saying.  The stamp is from DRS Designs.  Thought I could use this for Make it Monday.

Party Time Tuesday #131

This is a card I made recently that uses embossing powder.  The background is made by laying a piece of lace on sticky paper and applying a glitter embossing powder of a darker color and then removing the lace and applying another color of embossing glitter.  I embossed the whole piece after the second embossing glitter went on.  The main image is then embossed on the white cardstock.  Thought this would be perfect for anything goes at Party Time Tuesday.

MIM #151

I have been a little lax at posting cards to my blog.  Part of the reason is that I was on the design team at Stamper's Quest.  This was an online magazine for stampers.  Well it seems they are not going to keep publishing anymore so I will be bringing my cards back to my own blog.
This is a trifold card that I made a little while ago.  I just love this look.  I am not really one to use designer paper, but it worked great for this project.  If you have never tried one of these you really should.  They are not that difficult to make.  I am going to enter this in the Make it Monday challenge this week.

Totally Gorjuss #191

The challenge at Totally Gorjuss this week was to make a card with circles.  I have been seeing so many cards online putting a sun in the background and was just dying to try it.  I punched a circle out of a scrap piece of paper and then used a stipple brush to apply the color.  The stamp set is an old one fro Stampin' Up called Branch Out.  This was a set I just had to have a while back because I had seen a card made with it.  It is a really cool set because you can add little things to the tree.  I also added some clear highlight to the tire with a clear gel pen to make it stand out a little.  This is a very simple card , but I was pleased with the look and I used a set I had never used before.

Make it Monday #148

Here is a thank you card I made for a girl at work recently.  There is not a lot of stamping, most of the card is dies or punches.  I just love these little tulip flowers.  They are make from a 5 petal flower punch.  You cut out two of the petals from the cut out.  After you cut out your two petals your piece should look like a Y.  The the bottom petal is folded up.  It also helps to put a tiny piece of foam tape under the petal you are folding up to give it some dimension. Thought this would be perfect for Make it Monday.

Make it Monday #144

Trying to get back into posting on my blog. Got new computer system at work and when I got home I just did not feel like doing anything.  This is a card that I made for my Uncle's birthday.  He is 91 and flew in the Air Force.  I found this set on clearance at Hobby Lobby and thought it would be perfect for his birthday card.  I thought it would be perfect for my Make it Monday entry. The design for this card came from Stamper's Quest.  I am on their design team and this was the sketch we were given for this month.

Quirky Crafts #12

This was my post on Paper Temptress last week.  So all the paper I used was from Paper Temptress.I am a big stamper and this card has no stamping on it.  My daughter asked me to make a birthday card for her 2 year old nephew.  The theme of the card is Bob the Builder.  She found a tool belt card on Pinterest  and asked if I could do something.  Here is the link to the other card.  Also from the link you can go to a link that gives you a cut file.  I own a cricut but don't know how to download cut files.  I went to the cut file picture and just cut and pasted my tools.
Now to my card.  The base is Brown Basis.  I used an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock and cut the base to 5 x 11.  I scored the base at 3 1/2 from each side. The belt across the top and the pockets are Treasures Crafty Brown.  The gray on the tools is Gray Basis.  The red on the handles is Treasures Cardinal Red. The challenge at Quirky Crafts was fold it.

Blog hop list

Thank you for visiting and hope you had fun with the hop. Don't forget to leave a comment the each Design Team members blog.
We were given a stamp set and a die.  My set was Posy Patch.  All the paper in this card comes from Paper Temptress.  The base for my card is Heavenly White.  It is sort of sad to use this wonderful paper as a base.  It is wonderful for Copic Markers and stamps beautifully due to it's smooth texture.  The next layer is Epic Black.  I cut a hole to display my sentiment.  The hole is framed with a Hambly Screenprint called Hounds Tooth.  The pattern down the side is also a Hambly Screen print and it is a part of the Vintage Patchwork Screen print. The flowers were stamped on Silver Laser Lustre.  This paper takes Distress inks so beautifully.  I stamped the flowers in black StazOn and added color with Vintage Photo, Antique Linen, Tea dye and Walnut Stain Distress ink.  I added frosted lace Stickles in the center of the flowers for some bling.  The bow is my new favorite ribbon and is called 5/8 Elegant Cappuccino Satin with gold lines.  I just love the rich color of this ribbon.  Next stop is Tina's Blog.

Make it Monday #137 and TSSC 250

This is a sympathy card I made for my cousin's wife.  The background on the main image is made by stamping on glossy paper and then taking die ink and a brayer and applying color.  The sketch for this card came from Techno Stamper and thought I could post this as my card for Make it Monday also.

Make it Monday #135

This was my post for Paper Temptress this week.  I though it would be perfect for Make it Monday. I was on Stamp TV last week and saw the technique called Color on Color Emboss Resist.  It looked so cool I just had to try it.  I used Cryogen White for my base.  So even though you can't see it in the photograph it does have some shimmer to it. I used a sponge dauber to apply color.  The ink I used was dye ink.
Once this was dry I rubbed an antistatic bag over it and stamped my image with VersaMark.  I then applied clear embossing powder to the piece of cardstock.  I then used my heat gun to emboss the images.
I then applied a darker color to the whole piece with another sponge dauber.  This piece was mounted on Basis Aqua.  The main image was also stamped on Cryogen White and colored with colored pencils.  This image was highlighted with Distress Broken China which matches the Basis Aqua just perfectly. This image was mounted on Basis Burgundy  The cording at the bottom was just white and I used the distress ink with a sponge to apply color.  I know Paper Temptress has some beautiful white ribbon so remember you can always color it.  I did use some foam mounting tape for the background piece and the main flower image.

Make it Monday #133 and Party Time Tuesday #130

This is going to be a first for me.  This was my Paper Temptress Post for this week.    I am posting a scrapbook page.  I have a brand new grandson and have promised my daughter that I can start a scrapbook for him.  His name is Ian and he was born on February 20.  I used some of the first pictures of Ian to make this page.  The base is Graystone Classic Linen.  I love the way this carstock sort of looks like stone.   I used Tartan Green Felt Grande to mount the pictures and for the wording.  This is excellent for the wording because it has some texture to it.    The rubber duck is cut from Mangue Sparkle.   This wonderful Yellow color has a little bit of sparkle to it.  The beak of the rubber duck and highlight on the wings is Treasure Mango Orange.  The challenge at Party Time Tuesday is anything goes. Th Make it Monday.
ought this would also work for

Make it Monday #132

I have been rather busy lately and just not getting things posted.  This is a card I made recently for a Yahoo swap.  The stamps are from Magenta.  I colored them with colored pencils.  Thought this would be good for Make it Monday this week.

Make it Monday #128

This is my entry for Make It Monday this week.  I love pop up cards.  This card uses a Sizzix die that perfectly cuts the pop up.  The front is cut with a Martha Stewart anywhere punch.  The border on the inside matches the anywhere punch.

Party Time Tuesday #105, Make It Monday #125 and Totally Gorjuss #168

I am still on a quest to use supplies that have not been used much. The flower on this card uses a technique from Technique Junkies called Mono Markers. I stamped the image with Versamark on Pink Lemonade Pop and embossed the image with white embossing powder. I then colored with worn lipstick distress marker in small areas where I thought the shading would be the darkest. You then take a water pen and bring the color out to the edges. I just love the look and I got to use my distress markers.
The stamp I used is from Heartfelt Creations (HC 224-B). This set has a matching Spellbinders set called Blossom 2 Nestabilities to help cut out the flower. I added glue dot to every other petal so that the flower was not perfectly flat.
The embossed corners was done with a Cuttlebug set called Cuttlebug Emboss all-in-one Beautiful. I added some highlight to the embossing with a worn lipstick distress pad and distress tool.
The Pink Lemonade was layered onto Black Felt Grandee and then mounted on Razzleberry Pop.

I am going to enter this card in three challenges.  First is Party Time Tuesday .  The challenge here is anything goes.  The second is Make It Monday where the challenge is always anything goes. The third is Totally Gorjuss where the challenge was flowers.

Make it Monday #123

This is my card for my Paper Temptress post this week.  So I guess you can figure that all the cardstock came from Paper Temptress.  The base of this card is Dark Chocolate Mica Metallic. The aqua layer is Starburst Lichen Glimmer. The sentiment and the woman vacuuming were stamped on Cryogen White.

All dies used on this card are from a Spellbinder's set called A-2 Fancy Postage. The cool thing about this set is that it is specifically made for cards and all the layers fit together perfectly. Thought this would be cute for the Make it Monday challenge

The stamps used are from Viva Las Vegastamps. I colored the image with colored pencils. I hate plain white edges so the edges were highlighted with distress ink. By the way I do hate vacuuming and cleaning when there is crafting to be done.

totally Gorguss

The challenge at Totally Gorguss this week is a card with ribbon.  This is a card I made for a Yahoo swap.  The theme was to use red and white.  This card was done on glossy cardstock.  I embossed the white flowers on the glossy cardstock and then added distress ink.  I then embossed the larger red flower in red. I just love distress inks.

Make it Monday #122

Here is my entry for Make it Monday this week.  My goal this year is to really get into those supplies that I just thought I just had to have and have not really used.  This is a card I am going to use for a Yahoo swap.  This was a stamp set I thought was just so cute and never really got around to using it.  The set is made by Craft Lounge.  I thought the saying was really cute also.  I like the set because it can be for Christmas, but is Ok for just a winter card also.  For the swap I was supposed to use a coloring method that I don't routinely use.  I put marker on a craft pad and then picked up the color with a water pen.  I got a new lightbox for Christmas and am playing with my picture taking also.
