Textured Background

This is a technique from Technique Junkies.  I have looked numerous times but cannot find the name.

I took an embossing folder and applied three distress stains to it.  I spritzed it with water and inserted my paper and embossed it in my Big Shot.  I then highlighted the raised area with Antique Linen Distress Ink.

I embossed the main image and added sentiment.  I layered the main image on a dark brown layer.

Flowers for your Birthday

The base for this card is Amethyst Mica/Metallic.  It is beautiful because it has some sheen to it.
The dark purple layer is Basis Dark Purple. The main image was stamped on Cryogen White.  This layer also has a sheen look to it.  The flowers are from a stamp from Stampin' Up called Lotus Blossom.  I love this set because I was able to do the flower in layers.  That made it possible to make the flower tri-colored.
The butterfly flat layer is Coral Mica/ Metallic.  The top layer is Royal Mauve Classic Linen.   I added pearls for accent.

Winter Birthday

This is a tree stamp from Stampin' Up that I had in my stash.  Again the idea developed from ideas I saw on pinterest.   It is always fun to change things up and use what you have and see what comes out.

Birthday flowers

This is another birthday card I made recently.  I fell in love with all the layers.  All the stamps and the die are from Stampin' Up.  I have all these beautiful flower stamps and flowers and love the way they can all layer together.

Lacy Birthday Card

This is a birthday card for my Mother- In- Law.  I am a real lover of Pinterest and I saw something similar only the large background was different.  I had this beautiful doily stamp and thought it would be perfect.

Happy Birthday Balloons

This is a birthday card for my niece.  All the paper is from Paper Temptress.

The card base is Heavenly White.  The first layer looks a little odd in the picture, but it is actually Silver Metallic Glossy.  I stamped on it with die ink. I did try and heat set it.  Quite frankly some stayed on and others came off.  I do like the Reflective look though.

The balloons are Banana Split Pop Tones, Gumdrop Green Pop Tones and Razzleberry Pop Tones.  I love the Pop tones line because there are so many beautiful colors.

Faux Felt

I was looking for a different look for my post.  This is a technique I found in my Technique Junkies Newsletters called Faux Felt.  You take the cardstock and run it through a paper crimper multiple times in different directions. This breaks down the fibers . Once you have done that multiple times you start at one corner and separate the top and bottom layers apart.  Use the inside portion as the part that will be showing.  It makes a rough look like felt.  The good thing about Paper Temptress paper is that is so nice and thick.
The base for this card  and the sentiment is Neenah Super Smooth Ivory.  I  used a Hambly Overly backed with Green Basis for the next layer.  The background for the tree is Green Basis, the tree is Brown Basis, the top of the tree is Olive Basis and the sun is Gold Basis.

Happpy Valentine Day Duck

This is my post for Paper Temptress today. The card is  for a dear uncle.  I put a wobbler under the main image so that when you touch it giggles back and forth.

The base for this card is Heavenly White Ultrasmooth.  I used a scrap of pink which is Rose Quartz Mica Metallic for the backing for the main piece.  The beautiful red layer is Jupiter Mica Metallic.  Both of these have a beautiful shimmer to them.  The main image is stamped on Cryogen White.

The stamp I used is from Great Impressions.
