Candy chicks

These are little chicks I made for mom to give out at the nursing home.  It is pretty simple because I was going to make 40.

The yellow base is 2 x 5 1/2 inches.  I used a Scalloped Tag Topper punch on both ends.
Score at 2 5/8 and 2 7/8 inches

I cut a 1 3/4 inch circle in half.  Highlight edges with orange on wings and body of chick.  Attach wings on the backside of the front.

Tag is 4 1/4 x 3/4 inch.  Scored at 7/8,1 1/8,3 1/8 and 3 3/8.  Fold on score lines and make the middle pop up.  I glued the tag to the chick so that it stuck up a little bit.

I put the eyes and beak on.  Insert a piece of small flat candy and tie it shut.

There goes the Easter Bunny

This is the Easter card that I made for a dear uncle.  I thought he would find it humorous.  Thank Pinterest for some inspiration.  All the paper is from Paper Temptress.

The base and all the white are Neenah Solar White.  The tail I punched out and then covered it with stickles.  The background in Pop Tones Gumdrop green.  The pink on the feet is also from the Pop Tones collection and is Cotton Candy Pop Tones. The piece that looks like the rabbit hole is Black Basis

The ribbon that I used on this card also came from Paper Temptress.   It is 3/8 reversible Satin Ribbon  with stitches.  I love the two tone because depending how you tie your bow or knot, both colors can show.

HAPPY EASTER TO EVERYONE!

Textured Background

This is a technique from Technique Junkies.  I have looked numerous times but cannot find the name.

I took an embossing folder and applied three distress stains to it.  I spritzed it with water and inserted my paper and embossed it in my Big Shot.  I then highlighted the raised area with Antique Linen Distress Ink.

I embossed the main image and added sentiment.  I layered the main image on a dark brown layer.

Flowers for your Birthday

The base for this card is Amethyst Mica/Metallic.  It is beautiful because it has some sheen to it.
The dark purple layer is Basis Dark Purple. The main image was stamped on Cryogen White.  This layer also has a sheen look to it.  The flowers are from a stamp from Stampin' Up called Lotus Blossom.  I love this set because I was able to do the flower in layers.  That made it possible to make the flower tri-colored.
The butterfly flat layer is Coral Mica/ Metallic.  The top layer is Royal Mauve Classic Linen.   I added pearls for accent.

Winter Birthday

This is a tree stamp from Stampin' Up that I had in my stash.  Again the idea developed from ideas I saw on pinterest.   It is always fun to change things up and use what you have and see what comes out.

Birthday flowers

This is another birthday card I made recently.  I fell in love with all the layers.  All the stamps and the die are from Stampin' Up.  I have all these beautiful flower stamps and flowers and love the way they can all layer together.

Lacy Birthday Card

This is a birthday card for my Mother- In- Law.  I am a real lover of Pinterest and I saw something similar only the large background was different.  I had this beautiful doily stamp and thought it would be perfect.
