Copic Smooshed Alcohol

I was trying to find  a technique that would look good on a Christmas card.  The technique that I found is from Technique Junkies and is called  Copic Smooshed Alcohol.  The cardstock used is from Paper Temptress. For this technique you use a piece of glossy cardstock.  I decided I wanted to use Silver Metallic Glossy.  You take a piece of craft sheet and mark on it with several copic markers.  I then put several drops of hand sanitizer to the craft sheet.  I took the glossy cardstock and moved it around in the mixture on the craft sheet.  I just kept moving the cardstock around until I got the look I wanted.

The base for the card is Heavenly white Ultrasmooth.  The main image was stamped on Kunzite Mica/Metallic.  The wisemen  image was stamped on Amethyst Mica/Metallic.  I backed the main image with Dark Purple Basis.

Let's add some snow

I thought I was ready for Christmas.  I started Christmas cards in November.  To say the least other things came up and now it is nearly December 1 and have very few cards made.  So I decided my post  for Paper Temptress needed to be a Christmas card.

I used Neenah Super Smooth Ivory for the base card , sentiment and panel that the tree is stamped on.  This cardstock is so easy to stamp on and gave me a great image.  The stamped background is  from a stamp set called You've Got This from Stampin Up.  The tree is also from Stampin Up.  I embossed the tree and then added the snow.  I had never used snow, but like the look.

The green layer has some shimmer to it and is Fairway Mica Metallic.  The red layer also has some shimmer and is Vermillion Malermo Perle.

Woodgrain technique

This was post for Paper Temptress today. This is a technique I saw online at Gina K designs.  In the video they used kraft colored paper.  I decided the brown bag would be perfect.  It has a rough texture to it that I thought would be perfect for a woodgrain look.  I took a dark brown stamp pad and gently rubbed it over the  Brown Bag cardstock always going the same way.  I went from the top to the bottom.  I then stamped the mosaic pattern.

I actually made two woodgrain  pieces.  One is used for the base and I cut the two sections from the second piece.  I mounted the two cut pieces with Cranberry Brown Bag and Olive cardstock.  The images were from Stampin' Up and were stamped on Neenah Super Smooth Ivory.  The base of the card is Cranberry Brown Bag and the second layer is Olive . What I actually used for the Olive layer is no longer available and was called Brown Bag Olive.

The images were colored with colored pencils.  I used a technique from Technique Junkies called Glossy Outlines on the leaves.  To do this technique you outline some of the main images with stickles.

Flower Happy Birthday

So many times there are supplies in your stash that you just had to have and just don't use.  I am on a mission to really start digging in to my stash.  This is a set from Gina K.  The base stamp was embossed.  The red designs on the ends and the flowers above and below were added ( all made to go together).  The flowers are stamped and then cut with punches from Stampin' Up.

My first Christmas Card

Someone said the other day that Christmas is 8 weeks away.  I am always making cards at the last minute when I want to be doing other things.  Well I decided to get started. This was my post for Paper Temptress.  I decided I would go with the linen line.  It gave me rich colors with just a little bit of texture.  The base of the card and the Joy are made from Baronial Ivory Classic Linen.  I used dimensional glue on the Joy and then applied glitter.
As some know many of my supplies come from Stampin' Up because I have a friend that sells it.  The stamps set is called Daydream Medallions and the die set is Floral Frames. I had bought these because I loved the way they layered.  The embossing folder is from Darice.
The dark green layers are Emerald Green Classic Linen and the mauve layers are Royal Mauve Classic Linen.  I stamped in Cherry Cobbler on the mauve and Silver on the dark green.
