Stamp Something, Stamping Scrapping Challenge, 7 Kids College Fund #11

Ok so this is the last day of this year and is also my son's 21 birthday. I made this card with a cut and emboss folder from Cuttlebug that I bought at Stamping scrapping. I am going to use this card for the Anything goes challenge at Stamping Scrapping and the Anything goes challenge at 7 Kids College Fund. I am also putting this card in the challenge at Stamp Something. Here the challenge was glitter

I watercolor painted in the color with Pearlescent watercolor paints that I also got at Stamping Scrapping. I used stickles for highlight in the middle of the flowers and a pearl pen for some extra bling. Also used glitter pen for some of the little dot highlights.

MMSC #82

Attached is a picture of the sketch challenge at Midnight Madness. I really need to get my Christmas cards made. I just have not been in the card making mood lately. We recently had some family pictures taken by a friend and thought I would incorporate some of the pictures on my Christmas cards. The flat postcards you can have made are nice, but I love the layers and dimensions I can add.

Stamp Royalty Challenge #46

The challenge at Stamp Royalty was to use Stampin' Up Designer Paper. All this paper is from the Holiday Mini Catalog. The pattern for the cute quilt came from Ink Paper Stamps. I have used this pattern several times for quilting friends. It is super easy to do and I love the outcome.

MMSC #80

Here is a Thanksgiving card that I made using the sketch from Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. I thought this little turkey was so cute. I colored the turkey with colored pencils dipped in mineral spirits. I recently bought a super small stapler from Tim Holtz and I used that to make the loops in the ribbon.

MMSC #79

This is a christmas card I made for a Yahoo swap. I used the technique "Puzzle Layers" from the last Technique Junkies newsletter. Mine is a little abbreviated since I did not use pop dots on my pieces. I was doing this while away from home and sort of forgot that one little detail. The sketch for the card is from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge

Critter Challenge #38

The challenge at Critter Challenge Blog. was Christmas. I made this card for one of my Yahoo group swaps. I just love the detail in this snowman. The stamp is made by Serendipity Stamps. We were to do Faux Dry Embossing and that was done by cutting shapes in the same color as the background and adding them to the card.

MMSC #78

Here is my card for the Midnight Madness Challenge . The owl stamp is from Stampabilities. I kept looking at this owl and thinking I should color it. I even searched the internet for a good picture. I was just not brave enough to tackle it. I decided to distress around the edge and add the sentiment. It is not very often I come up with a masculine card I like.

Critter Sketch #37 with buttons

Here is the card I made for the Critter Sketch Challenge. The challenge was to use the sketch and also include buttons. The image and sentiment is from Stampin' Up. I guess I am on an embossing kick. This card is also embossed in white and then the color is sponged on. This will be the last of this technique for a while, I promise. The background is an embossing plate from Stampin' Up also.

MMSC #77

Here is my card for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. I just love olive green and the blue goes with it so well. The image is embossed with clear embossing powder and then I added the blue distress ink with the Inkssentials applicator. Again the designer paper is some of my favorite colors

Jazzy paper designs

I won the Jazz cat at Jazzy Paper Designs so here is my entry this week. Also here is the album cover from Jason Moran that it is based on . The background is embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The circle stamp is from Stampin' Up

MMSC #76

This is my card for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge this week. The stamps and paper are from Stampin" UP. I love the texture plates. I am also trying to use some of the pretty paper and ribbon I have . This sometimes is really hard for me. I am sometimes afraid to use paper and ribbon because then when I really want it I won't have it. Stupid I know. There is always something new out there to replace it.

CPS89, Card Patterns 86 and SSS78

I am making some cards for a craft show I am going to with my sister-in-law in November. I used the sketches from CPS, Card Patterns, and The Sweet Stop to put this card together. All of these sketched were sort of similar. The challenge at the Sweet Stop was to add sparkle to the card. You can't really see all my sparkle. The white card stock is shimmer white from Stampin' UP. The stripes in the back are highlighted with Champagne Mist paint also from Stampin' UP. The red is outlined with gold and then there is the gold ribbon. Also the little girl has gold highlights on her stockings and smooch pearl was added to the white on the coat and hat.

C4C59 and Critter #35

The challenge at Crazy for Challenges was fall. Around my house fall means deer hunting for my husband. This time of year he is out constantly. The background for this card was something I saw on the Gina K blog. I love the look and it is so simple. You make stripes of two different colors and then score the stripes. The other sketch used for this card was at Critter Sketch Challenge Blog.

Crazy 4 Challenges #58

This is my Birthday Card for the challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges. The idea came from Valita Designs and Freshfolds. It used Spellbinders to cut the opening. A smaller design is then put in the center with the spines running to the large design. I love the lookd

MMSC#75

This is my card for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. The picture is a little more distinct in person.. The scene is made with Stampscapes. I wanted paper strips in back of the picture, but nothing seemed to go so I just added fibers in the background.

Scrap it with song week 25 and Stamp Something

First of all part of the idea for this card came from InkPaperStamps. This is where I got the directions to paper piece the O block. The challenge at Scrap It With Song was feels like home. What is more homey than a quilt? The challenge at Stamp Something was Something Punchy. I punched all the squares with a punch.

Jazzy Paper Designs #13

The challenge this week at Jazzy Paper Designs was to use a Grant Green CD cover. The colors there were teal and black. These colors are so striking together. All stamps used are from Stampin' Up. All the paper is from Paper Temptress. I used water color paper on the white piece. It worked up so nicely.

MMSC #73 and Sketch Saturday Week 123 and Stamp Something

I am using this card for the challenge at Midnight Madness and Sketch Saturday. The stamp on this card is from JustRite and the sentiment is from Hero. I used some stickles in the border around the flower. I colored the flower with copic markers and did shading with colored pencil and mineral spirits. Copics work wonderfully, but I also like the look of the colored pencils and mineral spirits. Also the colored pencils are a lot cheaper and the effect is still good.
I am going to put this card up for the challenge at Stamp Something also. There the challenge was something to celebrate.

Stamp Something Challenge

The challenge this week at Stamp Something was fall colors. This little card is actually a gift card holder. It is made by folding an envelope in half, cutting half of the flap off and gluing the other half down. I then cut a piece of cardstock a little larger than the half-folded envelope and decorated. I got this in a swap this summer. I thought the idea was really cute. The background is on glossy paper and is done with alcohol inks. The large leaf punch is from McGill and the corner leaf punch is from Martha Stewart. The saying is from Stampabilities.

GC 70---Punches

One of the Challenges at Gingersnap Creations was the Spicy Supply Challenge. That challenge was punches. I posted a similar card to this in the last couple of weeks, but did some small changes on this one. I made the embossing plate that was used on the side using the same punch that I used in the circle. I punched 3 of the leaf and layered them on a piece of cardboard with very little glue. I then ran it through my Big Shot and got a customized embossed image. I love the possibilities of this technique. The card that I posted previously used the debossed side. Here I used the embossed side and highlighted the image with gold. The sentiment is from Stampin' UP.

ODBDSLC31 and Stamp Royalty #38

I have never really gotten into the ATC thing. I have been trying them lately. They are sort of fun. I can try a technique and get it done pretty quickly. The Challenge at Our Daily Bread this week was to do something with wings. I am also going to use this ATC for the challenge at Stamp Royalty. The challenge there was anything but a card.

I embossed the background with clear embossing powder. The stamp is from Tim Holtz. I then added the color with distress ink also from Tim Holtz. The bird is a clear set from Inkadinkado.

MMSC #72

This is my card for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge this week. The scenery stamps are all from Stampscapes and the sentiment is from Justrite. I love the stampscapes a while back and have taken a real interest in them again. I guess crafter has their favorites at different times. It is sometime influenced by the work of others. I need some practice, but I love the possibilities.

MMSC #71

This is my card for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. The background technique is from Technique Junkies and is called Antique Wallpaper. The stamp is from Stampin' Up and was colored with copic markers. The wonderful flower idea came from Valita Designs and Freshfolds. The picture is one I took when we were in Colorado several weeks ago. Birthday Wishes is from Stampin' Up and the other wording is from a Gina K set. The guy at work was helping me pick out one of my pictures to enter in a calendar contest at work. The picture I used on the card was his favorite picture.

Crazy 4 Challenges C4C53

The challenge this week at Crazy 4 Challenges
was to create something book related.. I made this bookmark for the granddaughter of one of my swap partners this month. She has been battling leukemia for a while and thought this might be a nice surprise. I colored the image with copic markers. The border is from Spellbinders. The stamp is from Viva Las Vegasstamps.

Stamp Something Challenge

The theme for the Stamp Something Challenge this week is "Cute". I made this card for my uncle who was kind enough to come and get us at the airport last week because our flight had been cancelled and we got back a day late and other arrangements not longer worked. Instead of coming home to St Louis on Thursday, we flew to Detroit and to St. Louis the next morning.

Critter Sketch Challenge #29

The theme for the Critter Sketch Challenge is fall. I also need a fall card for my card swap which is coming up. I was so excited about the technique used in the background for this card. I made the embossing plate from punched images. How cool is that. On this card I sort of used the debossed side. The sentiment stamp is from Stampin' Up.

MMSC #69

This is my card for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. The stamps are from Stampscapes. I bought Stampscape stamps a while back and played with them. Recently a lady on one of my Yahoo groups started posting pictures using them. To say the least it made me get them back out and realize that I love the look. I am not perfect at doing it,but it is fun.

Scrap it with song Week 20

I got out my magnolia stamps and was trying to play around with them. I was trying to play around with paper piecing. The dress on this little girl is pieced with some paper I had in my stash. I love coloring with the copic markers, but I really like this look also. The theme this week at Scrap It With Song is Isn't She Lovely. That seems to fit with my little Magnolia girl. I did the background of this card with a crimper.

MMSC #68

Trying to use new stuff in my stash that has not seen ink. The sketch for this card came from Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. The flowers are from Rubber Stamp Tapestry and the bike is Impression Obsession. It was embossed in black and colored with copic markers.

Jazzy Paper Designs #12

I need a thank you for my sister-in-law that took us to the airport when we went to Colorado last week. The colors for this card came from the challenge at Jazzy Paper Designs. The inspiration for the challenge is a Thelonius Monk Show Poster. The stamp I used is from Stampin' Up. I made the embossing plate to emboss the background.

MMSC #67

This is really pushing the limits. This is my card for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. We just got back from Colorado on Friday and I had to work all weekend. I needed a thank you card for the friends that we stayed with while we were there. I took over 400 pictures while we were there. Some people on my Yahoo group take pictures of the sky and then stamp on it. They are awsome. Really wanted to do that for the challenge, but need to practice so I went back to my comfort zone.

MMSC #66 and Stamp Royalty #32

One more card made this week. The sketch came from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. The colors came from the challenge at Stamp Royalty. The colors were to be Chrry Cobbler, Old Olive, Not qute Navy and Daffodil Delight. The background embossing plate is from Fiscars and the butterfly punch is from Stampin' UP.

Critter challenge #26

Here is the card I made for the Critter Challenge this week. It uses one of the new techniques from the current (August/ September) newsletter called Silent Night. This technique uses Sanitizing Gel to give this wonder marbeling effect. I'm not sure I did it exactly right, because my embossing powder is so random, but I think it has a lot of character. The flower stamp is from Stampin' Up and the sentiment is a a clear set from InkaDinkado.

Jazzy Paper Designs

This is my card for the challenge at Jazzy Paper Designs. The challenge was a sketch. The main image here is from Stampin' Up. The hello is from Inkadinkado and the the flourish is from Heartfelt Creations. Tenia has left some nice comments on my blog and I thought it fitting to support her blog and the challenge there.

7 kids college Fund #1 and Critter #25

There is a new challenge blog out there. It is 7 Kids College Fund Challenge. The challenge here was to use pink and dots. The sketch for this card came from Critter Sketch challenge blog. The stamp I used is from Crafty Individuals. The card was also to have at least two ribbons. The background is from a Sizzix embossing plate and highlighted with ink. The image is embossed with a clear glitter embossing powder and color is from distressed ink. The sentiment is from JustRite.
