Make it Monday82 and Party Time Tuesday 61

This is my post for the Paper Temptress Community Blog today. I also like to submit a card every week to Make it Monday. Also this week the theme at Party Time Tuesday is anything goes. I just love techniques, so in looking through my Technique Junkies newsletters I found the Smooch Painted Texture technique. I had some of the smooch paint that I just thought I had to have and have rarely used . For this technique you emboss the image and then paint it with the smooch paint. Very simple, but gives a nice effect and helped me to use some of the supplies in my stash. I love the deep red color of the accent paper which is the wonderul Cardinal Red Treasure. The image was embossed on the Cryogen White , so it has a little sparkle to it which goes along with the pearl look of the smooch. The card itself is made of Neenah Solar White. I also added a small red bow with Burgandy Metallic Mesh. This ribbon is just a joy to make bows out of because it holds the shape so well and has great texture.

Midnight Madness #136

This is a card I made for a family member that is having some hard times.  The design came from the the Midnight Madness Challenge for this month.  The background paper is made by using water color crayons and a water pen.

Make it Monday #81

The joys of working once a month at a local stamps store.  I get to creat cards for the shop.  Here is one for Make it Monday

Just Us Girls #128 and Stamping Scrapping.

The  challenge this week at Just Us Girls was to use light pink, moss and cream. I did not have the exact colors but tried to make do with what I had.  The second challenge is at Stamping Scrapping.  The challenge there was spring/pastels.  I think green and pink fit for spring.  Here is my creation.
I used colored pencils to color the image.  I used distress pads for the accent.  I also used Spellbinders dies for the wonderful cut outs.

Do You Stack Up #63

The challenge at Do You Stack Up this week was to use your favorite color. Well to say the least my favorite color is olive green.  I think I could use it on everything and have everything in my closet that color. The design came from a YouTube by Lorri Heiling.  I did change it up a bit.

Make it Monday #80

I found some beautiful tulips on line and knowing the beautiful colors of cardstock at Paper Temptress I just had to try them. The directions for the tulips can be found at Valita Designs and Fresh Folds. If you love punches go to her blog because she does some fantastic things. The beautiful pink card is made from Magenta Basis. The light green layer is Serpentine Mica Metallic. The leaves are Olive Basis. The flowers are Lemon Yellow Treasure, Mountain Rose Glimmer and I used some ink on the White Diamond, I finished off the look with some beautiful ribbon. I used a corner punch to make the slot for the ribbon. I cut the hole with a Spellbinders die. I raised that layer with dimentional dots so that I could insert the leaves and the flowers. If you visit Valita Designs take a good look around because she does some really interesting things. I love these tulips and they were so easy. This is my entry for the Make it Monday Challenge this week.

DYSU #62

The challenge at Do You Stack Up was to go green.  This is a technique from Technique Junkies called layered masking.  I just love this technique and keep going back to it.

The inspiration at Crazy For Challenges this week was Spring is in the air.  I made this card for a baby shower for a friend.  I just love the hot air balloon with the animals in the basket.  The stamp set is from Inky Antics.  I colored it with colored pencils and blended with gamsol.  It has been a while since I used the color pencils and I had a lot of fun with it.

Party Time Tuesday #58

The challenge at Party Time Tuesday this week is bling.  I had some sticky tape in my stash and some beautiful glitter from PK Glitz.  The sketch came from one of my Yahoo groups.  The flower is a new stamp I just got from Stampin' Up.  I also got the punch to go with the stamp set.
