Blessed Christmas Wishes

Trying to get started on Christmas cards.  I like how this went together.  Most of the cardstock in this card is from the Linen Line.  The base is Red Pepper Classic Linen.  The tree  is Emerald Green Classic Linen.   This tree has little pieces that stick out slightly.  They were just crying for glitter.   I know you cannot see it in the picture, but there is a fine texture in the linen line.

The city cutout is cut from Cryogen White cardstock.  I used a little antique linen to accent around the edges. The distressing gave the image a little more definition.

The sentiment was cut from Earthstone classic linen.

I am not sure the tree really goes with the background, but it is sort of old Christmas and new Christmas.  I just got this tree die and just had to use it.

Have a great day

A Birthday Rose

I just got some new Stampin' Up stamps and dies and just had to give them a try.

All the cardstock in this card came from the Treasures Package.  The base is Butternut Orange.  The Grass color seemed to be a good choice for the second layer it was also used for leaf accents.  I accented this layer with a ink pad around the edge.  The flower was cut from crafty brown.  I love that sort of brown paper bag color.  Goldenrod was used in back of the crafty brown  piece to accent the flower.

I would like to qualify one thing in this picture.  The background cardstock is more of yellow orange color.  I wanted to get this posted and just could not get the color exactly right.

Peaceful

Had a little hard time as to what to call this post.  This card is for the father of a relative that had a really bad motorcycle accident.  He is a pastor of a church so this seemed like it fit.

I used Gray Basis for the base card.  The Basis line never lets me down.  The second accent layer is Graystone Classic Linen.  In the linen line that little bit of texture always sets things off.

For the wood panel Baronial Ivory Linen was used.  I embossed the panel and used Vintage Photo and Pumice Stone distress inks to make the wood look.

Church was stamped on Cryogen White.  Always my go to when I want to have a great base for a scene.

Ribbon was just something I had.

Thinking of you flowers

Running a little behind today.  This is a card I made to send to my cousin.  I just got this quilted embossing folder from Stampin' Up.  Today my choice for cardstock was mainly linen.  The base is Bluestone Linen.  The quilted layer is Baronial Ivory Linen.  Finally the sentiment is Basis Light Yellow.
This card is a corner Pop Up Card.  I love the look.  The middle left panel is a little crooked.  Sorry about that.  I have to see if I can fix that before mailing.

Twist and Pop Trucks

This is a card I made for the grandson of one of my friends.  He is five and has stage 2 cancer.  I have been trying to send cards once in a while.  This card is cute but rather difficult to take pictures of.  I thought it was cool because the inside pops out.  It is called a twist and pop card.  I found the directions on Y-tube.

The base for this card is something I had because it had to be 12 inches.  All the rest of the cardstock came from the Basis Package.  The colors used are Light Yellow, Orange, Teal, Dark Orange, Gold, Orange and Light Blue.  You have to love this line of cardstock because it comes in so many colors.   These trucks are just perfect for little boys. .  I have two stamp sets and they came from http://flonzcraft.com/

Heartfelt Thoughts

I have had this stamp for a while.  I just did not know what I wanted to do with it.  I finally decided to stamp it and cut it out.  I am in love with the Misti stamp positioner!  It gives  me the opportunity to stamp the image  as many times as I want until I get the definition I am looking for.

The base and dark layer in this card is Emerald Green Classic Linen.   The Linen has a beautiful texture to it.

The embossed layer is Serpentine Mica/ Metallic.  On the Serpentine layer I embossed the music.  I then added some distress ink to highlight the image.

The white layer and stamped image are Cryogen White.  Cryogen is always my go to to stamp my images on.

Love and Blessings

A friend was having their girls baptized.  I wanted the cards to be similar but still different.
I will talk about the love, hope, faith card first.  The base for the card is Cotton Candy Pop Tones.

It seems like I always turn to Cryogen white for the main image.  The rays of sun were a stencil that I had.  It seemed to be perfect for a baptism.  I sponged the edge for some contrast.

The cross was cut on a cricut out of Magenta Basis and the center cross is Monterey Sand Linen.

Now for the second card.  The base for this card is Emerald Green Classic Linen.

The image was stamped again on Cryogen White. I colored the image with copic markers.   The image was placed on Baronial Ivory classic linen.  Again the stencil of rays was used.  I sponged around the edge for some highlight. Blessings was stamped in the corner in a dark pink.

Just for You

This is a card I made for a girl that was leaving work.  I decided to dig into my dies for this one.  Love this background die but just don't use it much.

The base of the card is a beautiful ivory.  The cardstock is Barronial Ivory Classic Linen.  The darker purple is Amythyst Mica Metallic.  I just can't seem to get away from the Mica Metallic line.  Just love that sheen.  Finally the lighter purple is Kunzite Mica Metallic

The main image is on Cryogen White.  I used a die to cut the uneven edge rectangle.  Also took a little ink pad to the edge to highlight it.

Summery Thank You

I just got a new Stampin' Up bundle.  The stamp set is called Petal Palette.  The die set is called Petals and More.

The base for this card is from Neenah Solar White.  The pretty light purple is Grapesicle Pop Tones.  The pop tones embossed beautifully.

The sentiment and die cut pink piece are from Pink Basis.  I was going for the pretty pastel summery look.

The yellow die cut is from Banana Split Pop Tones.  The background piece with the polka dots is Light Green Basis (sorry but this is no longer available). The cryogen with the little bit of shimmer would work well here.   The  accent leaves are from Limeade Pop Tones.

Finally the colored image is done on Cryogen White.  The cryogen is always the cardstock I go to for coloring an image. I colored the image with Ranger distress crayons and then used a water brush to spread

Flowers for Your Birthday

This is a card I made for my Mom's birthday.  I wanted something bright for the base so Orange Fizz Pop Tones did the trick.

I decided to dig into my dies.  The Aquamarine Mica Metallic is nice and thick and has a sheen to it.  It cut beautifully.  The sentiment and the flower center are cryogen white.  Cryogen is my go to whenever I want to color an image.  It is also good for stamping sentiment.   I added a little bit of color around the edge of the oval with a stipple brush.  The ribbon and sparkly corners were from my stash.

Happy Retirement

This is a card for a girl at work that is retiring.

The base is Pink Basis .  I wanted a contrast so I went with Violet  Mica Metallic.  This cardstock is nice and heavy and did great with the embossing.

I decided that Cryogen White would be great for the tag sentiment.  The green I chose for the leaves is Spring Larch Glimmer.  The flower is Pink Basis and Azelia Mica Metallic.

Finished the tag off with beautiful two sided ribbon

Thanks (so much)

This is a card I made for a dear friend.  All the cardstock from this card came from the Spring Speciality Package. For a limited time shipping is free.

The base for the card is Aqua Basis.  The Silver Lustre (cardstock that has the stripe to it) is accented with Teal Basis.  Actually all the layers are accented by Teal Basis.  All the patterned cardstock is Cryogen White.  This cardstock is so versatile.  On two of the pieces I put ink on the embossing folder and ran it through my big shot.  The other piece I just stamped on.  This cardstock also has a nice sheen to it which is awesome also.

Card for a coworker

This is my card for Paper Temptress this week.

My goal was for more texture.  The base for this card is Aqua Basis.  The Aqua was also used for the cutout on the front.  It seemed I needed a darker color to accent the main image so the Teal Basis worked perfectly.  This cardstock is nice and thick so the distressing tool worked perfectly. The main card front is made from Opal Mica Metallic.  Using the mica metallic gave me a little sheen on the main image.  Finally Midnight Blue Vellum was used for the sentiment.  I accented FOR YOU with some blue stickles.

Thinking of you with flowers

I saw this cute little design on pinterest.  You could highlight anything in the cutouts.  In the post I saw they had little puppies peaking out of the holes.  I decided I wanted different colors of flowers.  I used pop dots to pop the flowers up.

The base for this card  and the tag are Baronial Ivory linen..  Love the slight texture.  The green layer is Spring Larch glitter
.
In the second picture you can see the shimmer of the glitter line and also the texture of the linen line of cardstock.  The flowers were stamped on cryogen that also has a little shimmer.

Purple Birthday

This was a late birthday card for my mother-in-law.  The middle flowers are a peg set from Rubber Stamp Tapestry.  I stamped the flowers on Sweet Tooth Pop Tones.

The base for the card is Fairway Mica Metallic.  I love this The mica metallic line of cardstock  because of the beautiful sheen it has.

The light purple layer is Amethyst Mica Metallic.  I could not get away from the mica metallic so the corners are Violet Mica Metallic.  Sorry my lighting is a little off.  The corners are the same color.

See you next time.  I think it time for a technique.

Safari Birthday

My grandson wants a safari birthday party.  The stamp set is from Stampin' Up and is called Playful Pals.  The die set is called Pyramid Pals.  I needed the jungle looking leaves and cricut came to the rescue.

The base for this card is Copper Mica Metallic.  The black layer is Onyx  Mica Metallic.  I wanted the elephant to be a light gray color and the silver Mica Metallic did the job.  All the mica metallic line have a beautiful sheen to them,  The sentiment is stamped on Opal Mica Metallic.

I needed a nice olive green for the jungle leaves.  Olive Basis did the trick

Welcome to the Tribe

Happy New Year everyone.  Here is my first card for the new year.  My daughter's brother-in-law and his wife are having a baby.  The theme for the shower is Our Tribe.

I found this image on Apex for free.  It seemed just perfect.

They don't know if they are having a boy or a girl, so I went with brown and teal.  The base for this card is Hot Fudge Pop Tones.  The second layer is shimmery and is Aquamarine Mica/Metallic.
Finally the wording was cut on the cricut from Teal Basis.  The tent is also Hot Fudge Pop Tones.
