Party Time Tuesday #48

The challenge this week at Party Time Tuesday was anything goes.   I stamped the cross image on acetate with black stazon and then flipped the piece over and applied the glitter onto the back.   My father recently passed away and this is the card I made for the wonderful pastor at my Mom's church.  He went above and beyond to be there for my family.  When we thanked him for all he had done, he just said he was doing his job.  It is one thing to do your job and yet another to be excellent at it.  He was able to give great comfort when we needed it.

One more Christmas card for Make it Monday #69

I know it is after Christmas, but I had this one started and just needed to share it.   All the wonderful paper is from Paper Temptress.  I am going to use this card for my Make it Monday entry.  This card is a smaller variation of a Concertina Card that I saw on line at card-making-magic.com. The link that I have given is the U-tube of the card. My card base is 8 x 5. It is scored at every 2 inches
. The piece is folded on the score lines. First fold is up, second is down and third is up. There is a 1/2 inch cut on the middle top and bottom 1 inch over from the score line.
The middle insert piece is 4 x 3 and is scored in the middle of 4 inch side.
The small piece is then inserted into the slots. When inserted correctly the card should be able to folded flat. When I say flat I mean the card would be 2 x 5 and the middle would lay flat inside so that it could be mailed. You just keep adjusting the middle until the piece can be folded flat.
Now that you have the basic directions, here is the card I made. The cardstock for the base is Green Basis. The Red Panels are Red Basis. You have to love the rich colors. I embossed the red and highlighted the embossing with white Gelatos. The ornament was stamped on Cryogen White so there is some glitter there. I sprayed glimmer mist on a craft mad and picked up the color with a dryer sheet. I then stamped my ornament and added color to the ornament with Smooch Accent ink. I leaves were cut with a punch from the Basis Green. The Merry Christmas was also stamped on Cryogen White and punched out. Hope you like the card as much as I did. I see a lot of possibilities.
Sorry for the partial picture.  I copied and pasted from my Paper Temptress post and only half of the picutre showed up.

MMSC #134

Here is my card for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge this week.  The stamp used is from Penny Black. I just love the look of this stamp.  I think it could also me used for a manly birthday card.  I love the dimension in the trees.

Make it Monday #67

Thought I might post something different for the Make it Monday Challenge this week.  This was a little container that held the nugget bars perfectly.  I used alcohol ink on the box.  I also used a bottle cap with an acrylic piece over the top of the wording.  Stepping a little out of the box here, but this was a small gift for the owner of the stamp store where I work one weekend a month.

Party Time Tuesday #46

The challenge at Party Time Tuesday is Red and Green.  This is one of the Christmas cards that I tried.  The background was a plastic stencil and I used glitter spray to make the pattern.  I also tried to add to the background with some gelatos applied to the stamp and then spritzed with water.  The silver at the bottom is just the holder so that I could take the picture.

Pop Up card

Someone in one of my Yahoo groups just shared the easies way ever to make a pop up card.  I have always loved these and didn't like the measuring and cutting with the exacto knife.  This is done with the Stampin' Up word window.  Used the paper piecing technique on the front.

Midnight Madness Challenge #133

This is my card for the Midnight Madness Challenge this week.  On one of my Yahoo groups they were talking about making angels from paper clips. I thought this was really a cute idea.

Make it Monday #66

Here is my card for the Make It Monday Challenge.  Beings I put my Christmas cards off to the last minute,  they are going to be pretty simple.  Love the look of these trees.  A coworker of mine made a similar card for the shop where I work once a month. I love the look of the trees and this saying.

Make it Monday #65

Here is my card for the Make it Monday Challenge.  I really want to get the hang of using the Stampscape stamps.  I know this is so simple, but you have to start somewhere right?

Made Especially For You and MMSC #132 and Technique Junkies

This card is made from the new Technique Junkie 3D and Fun Folds CD.  The technique is the double twisted easel.  The challenge at Made Especially For You is a card with three of somethings.  This card has three wisemen.  The design for the left half of the card came from the challenge at Midnight Madness.  Of all the stash of paper that I have I had not gold paper.  So I used a Versamark pad and some embossing power the make several pieces on the card that I wanted to be gold.

Tri Fold-Out Card

I don't know how many of you follow Technique Junkies, but I absoluteley love the publications and CD's. There is a blog hop every day this week to promote the new 3D and Fun Folds CD. Some really great prizes when you leave comments. In support of the 3D and Fun Folds CD my card is called Tri Fold-out card. All the layers was just perfect to showcase the wonderful Paper Temptress Cardstock. The base card is made from Cardovan Leather> This cardstock looks so much like leather that it is unreal. I used Olive Basis, Emerald Green Basis and Burgandy Basis for some of the layering on the first two layers. The image was stamped on White Diamond. I love the sheen in this paper and not only that but it has a sort of linen texture. The inside of the card is Neenah Super Smooth Ivory and the White Crepe Ruche is layered behind the last layer for some texture.First picture is with all the layers down.
Hope you get the idea. It was sort of hard to photograph. All the layers are really cool. You do however have to somewhat watch you placment to make sure the image is covered by the previous layer.

Midnight Madness Challenge #131

I need a card for a friend that lost her husband recently.  The sketch for this card came from the Midnight Madness Challenge.  Didn't know what colors to use, but found this cardstock in my stash.

Gift card holder

This is the gift card holder for the friend that is retiring at work.  I just got this doily stamp from Stampin' Up.  I love the look.  I think I may be using this on some Christmas cards.

Makeover Monday #4 and Critter sketch Challenge #91

Here is my card for the challenge at Makeover Monday this week.  A dear friend at work is retiring tomorrow.  She loves tea so I made my background with different tea related items.  On looking at challenges I am also going to post on the Critter Sketch Challennge.  The challenge there was monochromatic.  Beings green is my favorite color that is what I picked for my friend's card.

Midnight Madness Challenge #130

The sketch for this card came from Midnight Madness Sketch challenge.  I need a card for a girl at work that is going to a new job.  I know the black and pink may be a little odd, but we got her a good luch cake with Hello Kitty on it and I figured this card would go with those colors.

Another Wine Bottle Topper

With the holidays coming up I just can't stop making wine bottle toppers. All the paper is from Paper Temptress.  The background is made using a technique from Technique Junkies called Collaged Circles. What better way to use a lot of wonderful cardstock. The cardstock used is Neenah Super Smooth Ivory for the base. The base piece is 3 1/2 x 6 1/2. I scored it at 1 1/2 and punched a hole with a 1 1/4 inch punch. The circles were made of Green Basis, Cordovan Leather, White Crepe, and Mountain Rose Glimmer. I gave some of the circles some texture. The stamp is from Verses Rubber Stamps. I really think the saying is cute. The embossing powder is from PK Glitz.

Midnight Madness Challenge #129

This is my card for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge this week. The ruffle down the side is a technique from Technique Junkies called Double Ruffle.  The stamp is from Paper Inspirations and the work stamp is from Penny Black.  I stamped the deer and colored the wreath with copic markers.  I then stamped the wreath again to bring back the detail.  Have to love stamp positioners.

This card will also work for the challenge at Party Time Tuesday  which is to add bling I stamped my background with a technique from Technique Junkies called Depth of Field.  I embossed the darke blue piece down the side and cut the snowflake from glitter paper.  I added some curly glitzy ribbon on the side.

Make it Monday #62

My project this week for Make it Monday is wine bottle topper.  I saw a similar project on a blog last week and now I can't stop making them. This would be perfect when you take a bottle of wine to  a friend's house over the holiday. The background is made from a technique from Technique Junkies called collage circles.

Midnight Sketch Challenge #128

I was working at the local stamp and gift store this past week end and this is one of the samples I made.  The sketch came from Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge.  The image was colored with prisma colored pencils.  I did get in a bit of a hurry and stamped the image on Cryogen instead of Colored Pencil paper.  I think the colored pencils blend a little better on the colored pencil paper.   The candy cane is from Viva Las Vegas Stamps and the stocking is from Whipper Snapper Designs.

Mojo Monday #212 and Party Time Tuesday #39

I was looking at the challenges this week and decided to do my first Christmas card based on the sketch from Mojo Monday .  Also going to enter this card in the challenge at Party Time Tuesday   where the challenge was anything goes.  I have so many border punches and have always loved this image from Hero Arts.  I really started looking at all my stamps and embellishments and decided some of the embellishments needed to be used.

Make it Monday #60

I needed a card for a girl I work with that just lost her father.  The techniques for this card came from Technique Junkies.  One is called Vellum Sentiment and the other is called Framed Nestie.  The tittles of both techniques sort of explain themselves.  So here is my Make it Monday card.

Midnight Madness Challenge #126

Here is my card for the Midnight Madness Challenge this week.  The background is stamped with green pigment ink and then some chalk was added to it.  I cut a shape out the middle of a piece of scrap cardstock and used both pieces to make a sort of mask.

Make It Monday #59

How often have you thought you just had to have a book and rarely use it. Well this card came from one of those books. The book is called Interactive Cards and is made by Annie's Attic.  It is a hinged card and I love the idea.  All the paper used is from Paper Temptress.  The base of the card is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and is Cryogen White. The image is also cut from the Cryogen White. The bottom piece is 4 1/4 x 3/1/4 and is the beautful Violet Mica/ Metallic. The gigham stamp is from the Impression Obsession Cover-a-Card Background stamp series. Also used the small Dots from the same line to do the dots on the top piece. I love these stamps because when you have a beautiful cardstock base I can make all sorts of background paper to match whatever project I am doing. The top dotted piece measures 4 1/4 x 2 1/2. The decorative border is a Martha Stewart punch and I used White Crepe Ruche for a little texture. The bottom piece is only glued to the base at the bottom and about 2 inches up each side. The top piece actually slides under decorative border that was attached to the bottom piece. The brad is attached to the side through all 4 layers. The image I used is from Lockhart Stamp Company. I love coloring these images because they are small and give a nice pop to your card.

Party Time Tuesday #37---Tags

Here is a tag I made for the challenge at Party Time Tuesday.  I saw a stamp at the stamp store that was two willow branches and a spider web.  I decided to use the Stampscapes Large Leafless Limbs and a spider web and spider by Inkadinkado.  I really love the web and the tiny little spider stamp.

MMSC #125

Here is my card for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge.  All the paper for this card came from Paper Temptress.  The paper I used is Neenah Supersmooth Ivory and the wonderful dark pink is Azalea Stardreams Mica/Metallic.  The stamp is a new set that I bought.  It looks like Hero and Sizzix have teamed up.  The stamp is from Hero and you get an embossing folder that matches the set perfectly.  I used a technique from the new Technique Junkies newsletter called Gelato Direct to do the stamping.  I just bought some gelatos to try.  Mine are metallic and did wonderful on this stamp.  They have a little sheen to them that I tried to show in the first  picture.  Also the first picture shows the wonderful sheen in the Azalea cardstock.

Also a little hint.  I hate to use this beautiful cardstock as a behind layer, but it really set things off.  Beings the big pieces was going to be a layer, I cute the small squares out of it to use as the other layers.  That way I didn't waste that whole big background piece.

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #124

Here is my card for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge this week.  Thanksgiving is coming up and I made this card for a swap.  I have not idea who makes this stamp as it was an unmounted stamp that was blog candy that I won.  I never really liked the stamp because I never could get a nice image.  Since then I have found that that problem can be solved with a good stamp positioner.  I stamped it in several colors until I got the look I wanted.  I colored the fruit with colored pencils and added the color to the flag with chalk

This card was chosen as one of remarkable cards of the week.  I am so excited

Make it Monday #57

Thought I would post a Christmas card for the Make it Mondfay Challenge this week.  I made this card for the local stamp shop as a sample.  I thought the colors I picked would be a little more traditional looking, but liked what I ended up with

Make It Monday #56

The joys of working one weekend a month at a local stamp store.  This is one of the samples I made for the shop.  I just love the twigs with the spider web in the middle.  I colored the twigs with marker and then stamped on watercolor paper.  I softened the lines with a damp brush and added glitter to the web.  The spider is a stone that I added legs to.  This is my entry this week at Make it Monday

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge # 122

This is a sympathy card that I made for a friend.   All the paper came from The Paper Temptress.   The gate image and base card are done with Neenah Supersmooth Ivory. This paper is great to use for colored pencils. The accent for the main image is Basis Green. The layer that everything is attached to is Basis Light Green. The lattice is done in a deep purple that has a wonderful glitter look (sorry the picture didn't pick that up --- the picture does however show the great deep purple color). This cardstock is called Violet Mica Metallic. The Violet Mica Metallic is one of the new papers at Paper Temptress. The sketch for this card actually came from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge

Make it Monday #55

I was working a couple of weeks ago at a local stamp store.  When it is not busy she lets us make cards for samples.  The image just called out to the colored pencils. I also am finding that I love the use a stamp positioner.  After coloring if something is not as distinct as you want it you can restamp several times until you get the definition that you want.  So Make it Monday here us your card for the week

MMSC #121

Here is my card for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge this week.  I am trying my hand on doing stamping that looks like water coloring.  I colored the stamp with markers.  I did each color separately and used a stamp positioner to keep the image intact.  I stamped on water color paper and once stamped softened the lines with water and a water color brush.  I need to practice, but love the look.

Totally Gorjuss #97

I made this card for a guy at work.  The theme at Totally Gorjuss was it's a man thing.  A while we went to a scrap convention and there was a make and take where you printed your picture on acetate and then layered it into your card.  I love taking pictures so I loved the idea.  This picture came from our Michigan vacation this summer.
