Blessed Christmas Wishes

Happy holiday season everyone.  I love this time of year.  It just seems like time flies and I don't get all my projects done.

This is a card I saw online and loved the shape and pieces.  First I want to tell you the score and cuts for this card.  With the 8 1/2 inch side score at 4 1//4 and then move and cut at 6 1/4.  On the 11 inch side cut at 5 1/2.  This should give you 2 card bases.  The inside is 4 x 5 1/2.  The front layers are 3 x3 and 3 1/4 x 3 1/4.  The side layer is 1 3/4 x 5 1/4.  This is all in inches.

I made the base out of Blumarino Incandescent.  It has a gold shimmer to it.  The inside and small front piece is Gold Pearl Linen.  Finally the red down the side is Wild Cherry Pop Tones. Manger was all cut from Cryogen White and then colored with ink.

The small manger die and stamp set is from Papertrey Ink

Georgia is Two

This is card for a friend's little one that is turning two.  They are having a donut party.

All the cardstock for this card is from Paper Temptress and the links are provided.  The base for this card is Red Pepper Classic Linen.  I wanted another color pop so I used Yellow Thin Columns for the second layer.  I used ink around the edges to accent the pattern on the paper.  Razzle Berry Pop Tones seemed to be perfect for some of the wording.  I wanted to showcase here how well the Pop Tones line cuts in the cricut.  The first part of Two is  Orange Fizz Pop Tones.  Finally the donut is Hot Fudge Pop Tones with the icing being Banana Split Pop Tones.

Glitter was used as much as possible to finish off the accents.

Cable Knit Christmas

Christmas is sneaking up so I thought I would share my first Christmas card.

This was my card for Paper Temptress this week.  The base is Brown Basis.   The wreath was also cut from the Brown Basis.

I thought the Green Basis would make a great second layer.  The Green Basis was also used as second layer on the sentiment.  I used Kraft Treasures for the cable knit layer.  It has a little texture and worked perfectly.

Olive Basis seemed to be the perfect cardstock for the greenery.  Gold Pearl Linen was used for the sentiment.  Last but not least was the shiny Red Ribbon Bow.

Troll For Aria

Good thing is that this is a birthday card for my granddaughter and it is actually done early.  Guess what the theme of the part is.  TROLLS

The base of this card is amethyst mica metallic.  Mica metallic is shimmery and a really nice weight for the base.

I tried the Heavy Weight Vellum for the second layer.  It embossed so nicely.  I colored some of the areas on the back side.

The troll is actually 2 colors of Basis.  The bottom layer is Pink Basis and the top layer is Magenta Basis.  The wording is actually two colors.  I tried Aqua Basis (light ) first and it was to light, so I cut the words in Teal basis and placed it on top of the first layer.  It raised my words off the page and if you look at the side you can see the layers

For the Newlyweds

Well it must be wedding season.  The base for this card is Neenah Ivory.    I used Burgundy Basis for the embossed layer.  The basis line because of the cardstock weight takes embossing just perfectly.

I wanted to carry on the heart theme.  The first layer of the heart is Pink Ice Antique Parchment. The antique Parchment is a light pink variegated cardstock.   Top heart is the Neenah Ivory again only I added distress ink to the cut out image.  This cardstock took the ink accent just wonderfully.  The sentiment is stamped on Gold Pearl Linen.  The picture does not show it , but it has a beautiful shimmer to it.

Lastly the ribbon is some that I had in my stash.

Love is in the Air

I needed a wedding card for a girl at church.  Don't really know the colors for the wedding so I used colors that I like.   All the cardstock used for this card came from Magnolia Dreams cardstock pack.  The base for this card is Solar White Thin Columns.  I wanted the columns to show slightly so I used Antique Linen  distress ink.

The accent for the main image and the Love are both cut from Teal Basis.  I love this color because it is so rich and highlights beautifully.

Background for the hearts is White Pearl Linen.  Last month Paper Temptress paired with  Gracielle Design .  The polka dot pattern came from Magnolia Dreams pattern from Gracielle Designs. I did add some Victorian velvet distress inks to the edges

Hearts were cut from Azalia Mica Metallic.  Love the shimmer here.  Added the bow to symbolize a sort of union of the hearts.

Sharing one more Graciellie Design

I know the blog hop with Graciellie Design is over, but I just had to make one more card.  The previous link is for the etsy store.  Here is the link to the Graciellie Design blog

I have never really been one to print out digital paper and use it on cards, but love these designs.  The polka dot was printed on white pearl linen .  There is some slight texture there and a beautiful sheen.  I did add a few rhinestones for a little more glitz.  Cryogen White  always works beautifully for the digital paper designs and also for coloring.

The base for the card is Magenta Basis and the light blue layer is Aqua Basis.  The dark teal ribbon was calling to be added , so there you go.  Thanks to Graciellie Design for some great patterns and Paper Temptress for some great cardstock.

Another blog hop card

I have fallen in love with the cut files and digital designs from Graciellie Design.  Add Paper Temptress cardstock and you have it all.

Tried taking a little different angle on this card.  The base is epic Black Thick Columns.  The Columns are a little bit hard for me to photograph but you can see them if you really look close.  I love cutting things on my cricut and these cut files cut perfectly.  The ornate side panel is gold pearl linen.  This cardstock has a little linen texture and a small amount of shimmer.

The flowers were printed on cryogen white.  I did the print and cut on the cricut.  Flowers were colored with copic markers with a little yellow glitter in the middle.

Finally I added the shimmery gold bow.  Everything in this card is in the special cardstock package made especially for this Graciellie collection. It is called Magnolia Dreams
Don't forget the blog hop to showcase the Graciellie collection and Paper Temptress cardstock is still going on.  Here is the list.

Magnolia Dreams and Paper Temptress

Hi all.  Welcome to the blog hop.  If you are following the hop you should have arrived here from Ginny's blog.  Design team members from Paper Temptress and Graciellie Design will be showcasing some great cardstock from Paper Temptress and some gorgeous  digital images, paper and cut files from Graciellie Design. Graciellie Design is where the blog hop begins.

The base for my card is Cotton Candy Pop Tones.  I wanted a nice light base to show off the other beautiful colors.  The flower and the patterned cardstock(which is a digital paper design from Graciellie Design) are both done from Cryogen White.  To say the least the design printed out perfectly and the cardstock has a little shimmer to it.  I colored the flower with copic markers.  Finally the teal frame was cut from Teal Basis.  I felt like this dark cardstock really set off the nice flower.

Just loving the cardstock and designs being showcased so I decided to add another card.
It is very difficult to photograph silver cardstock.  That is exactly what the base of this card is.  It is called Silver Metallic Glossy

Another thing that the previous post did not show was the cut files from Graciellie Design.  I used a Cricut and cut the fancy piece in the middle from Teal Basis.  Middle oval is also  Teal Basis.
The flower was again printed on Cryogen White  and colored with distress ink and a little water on a brush.   Pink layer in the middle is Azalea Mica Metallic  and has a sheen to it.  Both ovals were cut from dies from Stampn' Up.

Sorry for the long post, but I just have the need to show as much of this cardstock and designs as possible.  Just one more. I did use one of the sentiments from Graciellie Design in this card.   Base for this card is Kraft Treasures.

The flowers are printed on Cryogen White and the spots are printed on White Pearl Linen.  Both worked perfectly but if you want a little sheen and a little texture the Linen is the answer.

The light blue in the layers is Aqua Basis.  The accent on the sentiment is Teal Basis

There is a special cardstock pack available from Paper Temptress that was put together just for this blog hop.  The colors  showcased in the hop are to die for.

The next stop on the hop is Holley.  Have fun!

Here is the full blog hop list and link to cardstock pack if you need it for reference.

Hey Chick says Have a Great Day

I decided to pull outa set from Stampn' Up called Hey Chick. Most of the cardstocks in this card are from the Treasures line from Paper Temptress.  I used the Crafty Brown Treasures for the base and the sentiment.. The Periwinkle set off  the brown for the second layer.

Now here is my simple technique for today.  The patterned layer is cryogen white. I colored it with distress ink and finger daubers.  I then took a stencil and sprayed it with water and put it down on the cardstock.  I laid a paper towel on top and pushed down on the stencil.  This helped to get rid  of excess water.  Remove stencil and dab excess water off of your cardstock.

The frame around the chicken is made from Goldenrod Treasures.  I needed a bright color to highlight  colored image so I used Mango Orange Treasures.  The image was stamped on Cryogen White.

Add a few rhinestones for some extra bling and there you have it.

A Camping Birthday

This is a birthday card for my son-in-law.  All the stamps used are from Stampn' Up.  I stamped in Memento Black and colored all the images with colored pencils.

The base of the card has shimmer to it and is Blumarino Incandescent.  The yellow layer is Sunshine yellow columns so there is a little texture there.  The main images are mounted on Opal Mica Metallic.  I did stamp lightly some clouds and grass and then distressed the outside.  All the images are stamped on Cryogen White with black Memento ink.

I have been trying to give a little easy technique in my posts lately.  So I have a second card today.

This card is only two layers.  The bottom layer is Epic Black thick classic columns.  This gives the back a little texture.  The card front is Cryogen White.  I used two colors of bingo markers to make the little monsters.  When you slam the marker onto the cardstock a spatter image is made. I added goggly eyes.  My grandchildren are 4 and 7 months.  This is just perfect.

Fun with punches

All the cardstock in this card is from Paper Temptress.  The base of this card is Serpentine Mica Metallic. If you look closely there is a slight green color to it.  It is also shimmery.

The two frilly layers at the top and the bottom are Monterey Sand Classic Linen.  This cardstock has a slight texture to it. The coral distress layer was also the Monterey Sand Classic Linen.
The brown piece in the middle and the layer around the main image is Hot Fudge Pop Tones.  I had a punch set that did the corners of the brown layer and a straight punch that matched to do the accent on the top and bottom.

The main image was stamped on Cryogen White.  I did cut a piece larger than my image and used a stamp positioner for this image.  I stamped with Distress Abandoned Coral.   I then stamped it again with the same color and got out my water brush.  The idea is to drag the color to the ends of the petals.  I added Distress Peeled paint to the leaves also with the water brush.  A little Distress Mustard seed was added to the middle.  The final step was to stamp the image with Distress Brushed Corduroy.

Wood Planks for Father's Day

I was looking for a different look for Father's Day.  My sister-in-law recently taught me how to make the wood planks.

I used the Brown bag cardstock for the base of the card and for the planks.  I cut a piece of the Brown Bag cardstock to 3 3/4 x 4 inches.  I used a sort of dry dark brown stamp pad to make the wood marks on the cardstock.  You  can then stamp whatever you want on the piece.  There are (5) 3/4 inch pieces cut.  Paper should be layed with the 3 3/4 inch side laid left to right.  I edged the planks with a dark brown ink pad.  To make it easier to assemble I cut a piece of cardstock 3 3/4 x 3.  I raised by planks a little with foam mounting tape.  I used the 3 3/4 x 3 piece to apply my planks to.  The first plank can be put right on the edge and all the rest will follow.

The second layer is Eggplant Brown Bag.  I sort of messed up here.  The cardstock is no longer available.  There is a color called Cranberry Brown Bag that would do the trick.  I roughed the edge a little and applied dark purple ink around the edge.  It needed a little bit of something so I added the twine.

Sparkle for Mother's Day

This is another Mother's Day card.  All the cardstocks used here have some sheen to them. The cardstock is all from Paper Temptress. The base of this card is Kunzite Mica Metallic.

The main layer is Cryogen.  I decided to use some chalk on it and then top the chalked image with a beautiful rose cute from Vintage Silver Lustre.  Final step was to add the sequins and sentiment.

Starting on Mother's Day

It was time for me to make my post and thought I would get started on Mother's Day cards.

The base for this card is Eggplant feltweave.  It is great for a base because it is thick and has a little texture to it.

The rose and the leaves were cut from Vintage Silver Lustre.  It has a sheen to it.  I colored it with distress ink.  The backing for the leaves is Jelly Bean Green  pop tones and the backing for the rose is Bananna Split Pop Tones.

To bring in a little more sheen I used Rose Quartz Mica metallic behind the rose as the first layer and Mars Mica Metallic for the second layer.

Classic Linen can say thinking about you

All cardstock in this card is from Paper Temptress.  The base for this card is Earthstone Classic Linen.  The Mauve colored layer is Royal Mauve Classic Linen.  The beautiful brown is Chocolate Truffle Classic Linen.  Sorry I can't find a link for the chocolate linen.   The oval, butterflies and layer under the Hamby print is all Classic Natural Linen.

I know the butterfly in the second picture is a little blurry, but the point of this picture was to show the texture in the Classic Linen line.  On the butterflies I tried using some chalk and I used distress ink on the oval sentiment.

Layers for You

I played around with some layers in this card.  The base of this card is Solar White.

The beautiful teal layer is Lagoon Mica Metallic.  I stamped on Coral Mica Metallic for the second layer.  For you was stamped on Solar White.

Butterflies say thinking of you

Happy Sunday everyone.  I just can't get enough of the mica metallic cardstock.

I used the cryogen white for the base of this card to keep with the glitzy  look.  The blue green layer is Lagoon Mica Metallic.   I also made the frame from Lagoon Mica Metallic. I then layered Opal Mica Metallic on top of that.  The lines were put on the Opal cardstock with a scoring tool.  It needed a little bit of something so I added some distress ink.

The tag was made from Amber Mica Metallic.  Finally all the butterflies were cut from Azalea Mica Metallic

Snowman for Ian

This is a birthday card for my grandson.  He decided he wanted a snowman birthday party.  We live in Missouri and the winter here has been exceedingly warm.  It is weird to be 70  at times in  February.

The design for this card came from Splitcoast Stampers.  It is called a Z Box Pop-Up card.  It was easy to make but suggest you watch the video for placement of the layers inside the box.

The carstock all comes from Paper Temptress.

All the white on the card is cryogen white so it has some shimmer to it.  The black eyes are
Onyx Mica Metallic.  The touch of orange for the nose is Poptones Orange Fix.  All the snowflakes are Aquamarine Mica Metallic.  The happy birthday is Lapis Lanzuli.  Finally the ovals for the base for the Ian and 4 is Light Blue Basis.

Sales at Paper Temptress

Hi all!  Happy Sunday.  There is a special  on mica metallic and vellum is  going on at Paper Temptress so when I was deciding on my project it just seemed perfect to showcase  a couple of the sale items.

The base for this card is Neenah classic Laid. I have been around for a while so this is no longer available but I think the Baronial Ivory Linen would work well.   The dark blue layer is Lapis Lazuli Mica Metallic.  I wanted some contrast so the strips are Serpentine Mica Metallic. The amber Mica Metallic was good for the wording.

I wanted a layered flower to set things off.  Layers of Mother of Pearl Vellum did the trick.  In the picture below you can also see the shimmer in the mica metallic.

Another Birthday Card

I wanted to see what I could do with one type of cardstock.   This whole card is done with Neenah Ivory from Paper Temptress .    I cut the flower out and colored it with Copic markers.  I used a Misti alignment tool for stamping the sentiment.  I could stamp the sentiment numerous times in exactly the same spot with the Misti.

One last Christmas Card

I am in love with this Stampin' Up set.  It is called Star of Light and the matching die is Starlight Thinlits.  The inside says

The light the shepherds saw that night
THAT LIT THE WAY FOR THEM,
still guides the hearts of all who seek
THE CHILD OF BETHLEHEM

I think the words in the set also sold me on this set.

First Birthday card of the New Year

First off Happy New Year everyone!  This is my Paper Temptress post for today.

I need several birthday cards right at the beginning of the new year, so that gave me my theme.  The base, sentiment and stamped image are all Neenah Super Smooth Ivory.  The beautiful olive green layer is Olive Basis.

The ribbon used for the accent is from Paper Temptress also.
