Party Time Tuesday #48

The challenge this week at Party Time Tuesday was anything goes.   I stamped the cross image on acetate with black stazon and then flipped the piece over and applied the glitter onto the back.   My father recently passed away and this is the card I made for the wonderful pastor at my Mom's church.  He went above and beyond to be there for my family.  When we thanked him for all he had done, he just said he was doing his job.  It is one thing to do your job and yet another to be excellent at it.  He was able to give great comfort when we needed it.

One more Christmas card for Make it Monday #69

I know it is after Christmas, but I had this one started and just needed to share it.   All the wonderful paper is from Paper Temptress.  I am going to use this card for my Make it Monday entry.  This card is a smaller variation of a Concertina Card that I saw on line at card-making-magic.com. The link that I have given is the U-tube of the card. My card base is 8 x 5. It is scored at every 2 inches
. The piece is folded on the score lines. First fold is up, second is down and third is up. There is a 1/2 inch cut on the middle top and bottom 1 inch over from the score line.
The middle insert piece is 4 x 3 and is scored in the middle of 4 inch side.
The small piece is then inserted into the slots. When inserted correctly the card should be able to folded flat. When I say flat I mean the card would be 2 x 5 and the middle would lay flat inside so that it could be mailed. You just keep adjusting the middle until the piece can be folded flat.
Now that you have the basic directions, here is the card I made. The cardstock for the base is Green Basis. The Red Panels are Red Basis. You have to love the rich colors. I embossed the red and highlighted the embossing with white Gelatos. The ornament was stamped on Cryogen White so there is some glitter there. I sprayed glimmer mist on a craft mad and picked up the color with a dryer sheet. I then stamped my ornament and added color to the ornament with Smooch Accent ink. I leaves were cut with a punch from the Basis Green. The Merry Christmas was also stamped on Cryogen White and punched out. Hope you like the card as much as I did. I see a lot of possibilities.
Sorry for the partial picture.  I copied and pasted from my Paper Temptress post and only half of the picutre showed up.

MMSC #134

Here is my card for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge this week.  The stamp used is from Penny Black. I just love the look of this stamp.  I think it could also me used for a manly birthday card.  I love the dimension in the trees.

Make it Monday #67

Thought I might post something different for the Make it Monday Challenge this week.  This was a little container that held the nugget bars perfectly.  I used alcohol ink on the box.  I also used a bottle cap with an acrylic piece over the top of the wording.  Stepping a little out of the box here, but this was a small gift for the owner of the stamp store where I work one weekend a month.

Party Time Tuesday #46

The challenge at Party Time Tuesday is Red and Green.  This is one of the Christmas cards that I tried.  The background was a plastic stencil and I used glitter spray to make the pattern.  I also tried to add to the background with some gelatos applied to the stamp and then spritzed with water.  The silver at the bottom is just the holder so that I could take the picture.

Pop Up card

Someone in one of my Yahoo groups just shared the easies way ever to make a pop up card.  I have always loved these and didn't like the measuring and cutting with the exacto knife.  This is done with the Stampin' Up word window.  Used the paper piecing technique on the front.

Midnight Madness Challenge #133

This is my card for the Midnight Madness Challenge this week.  On one of my Yahoo groups they were talking about making angels from paper clips. I thought this was really a cute idea.

Make it Monday #66

Here is my card for the Make It Monday Challenge.  Beings I put my Christmas cards off to the last minute,  they are going to be pretty simple.  Love the look of these trees.  A coworker of mine made a similar card for the shop where I work once a month. I love the look of the trees and this saying.

Make it Monday #65

Here is my card for the Make it Monday Challenge.  I really want to get the hang of using the Stampscape stamps.  I know this is so simple, but you have to start somewhere right?

Made Especially For You and MMSC #132 and Technique Junkies

This card is made from the new Technique Junkie 3D and Fun Folds CD.  The technique is the double twisted easel.  The challenge at Made Especially For You is a card with three of somethings.  This card has three wisemen.  The design for the left half of the card came from the challenge at Midnight Madness.  Of all the stash of paper that I have I had not gold paper.  So I used a Versamark pad and some embossing power the make several pieces on the card that I wanted to be gold.

Tri Fold-Out Card

I don't know how many of you follow Technique Junkies, but I absoluteley love the publications and CD's. There is a blog hop every day this week to promote the new 3D and Fun Folds CD. Some really great prizes when you leave comments. In support of the 3D and Fun Folds CD my card is called Tri Fold-out card. All the layers was just perfect to showcase the wonderful Paper Temptress Cardstock. The base card is made from Cardovan Leather> This cardstock looks so much like leather that it is unreal. I used Olive Basis, Emerald Green Basis and Burgandy Basis for some of the layering on the first two layers. The image was stamped on White Diamond. I love the sheen in this paper and not only that but it has a sort of linen texture. The inside of the card is Neenah Super Smooth Ivory and the White Crepe Ruche is layered behind the last layer for some texture.First picture is with all the layers down.
Hope you get the idea. It was sort of hard to photograph. All the layers are really cool. You do however have to somewhat watch you placment to make sure the image is covered by the previous layer.
