Glimmer Stencil

Hi everyone, this is Vickie.  Today for my post I used a technique called Stencil Punches from Technique Junkies.  For this technique you punch a shape from scrap cardstock and use it as a stencil.  You then actually punch more shapes and use them for the design of the card.

All the paper used is from Paper Temptress.  The base for this card is Neenah Super Smooth Ivory.  All the rest of the cardstock comes from the glimmer line.  The beautiful copper layer is Copper Ore Glimmer.  I used Beargrass Glimmer to do the stenciling on.  The highlighted  edge  is done with  Distress Vintage Photo.   The middles of the flowers was also  cut from the Beargrass  Glimmer.

The flowers are cut from Starburst Lichen Glimmer, and the leaves are cut from  Spring Larch Glimmer.  I also used a little bit of Broken China Distress on the flowers and Peeled Paint Distress on the leaves.

Hello was cut from the Copper Ore Glimmer

So there you have it.  Have a fantastic day!

Color Isolation

This is a card I made using a technique called color isolation.  The small flower in the background is the same flower used for the center of the quilt block.  The stamps and dies are all from Paper Trey Ink

Birthday Butterflies

This is a birthday card for Aunt that is turning 80.  I wanted something really special.  This card was called a stand up joy fold. All the cardstock is from Paper Temptress.

The base of this card is Lagoon Mica Metallic.  The brown layer is also from the Mica Metallic line and is Bronze Mica Metallic.

Nearly all the rest of the card is Neenah Super Smooth Ivory.  I love making my own designer paper.  I just recently bought a Misti stamp tool.  It is fantastic.  It lines everything up and if the image does not come out perfect, it is aligned so that you can restamp until it looks good.  I didn't really like these Cover-A-Card background stamps from Impression Obsession because I could never get a good stamped image.  Now I can use the Misti and keep reinking and stamping until it looks good.

The top cut out layer on the butterflies is  Yummy Iridescent vellum.
