New tags

Here are some tags for one of my Yahoo Swaps. The one on the left was supposed to use a sort of grunge look and the other one was to use pastel colors

MMSC #100 and SR #68

The technique to try this week for Technique Junkies is Dry Embossed Wash. I used this technique on the background pieces on this card. The sketch for this card came from Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. The middle image is a technique from Stamp TV called embossed marble. This card is also going to the challenge at Stamp Royalty. The challenge there was to use watercoloring on your card. The dry embossed wash uses watercolor crayons and a water pen to do the background. The images is embossed, colored with the waterbrush and crayons and then coated with gesso. Also I have just become a member of the design team at Paper Temptress so the paper used in this card came from Paper Temptress. I used Blue Ice Sorbet, Purple Basis and Pink Basis for the background and matting.

MMSC #99

I used the Technique Junkies "Scored Diamonds for the challenge at Midnight Madness this week. This technique was a bit of a challenge. You stamp the background and the score an 8 1/2 x 11 piece at every 1/2 inch. You then cut your squares and layer on the stamped piece. I sort of put together a lot of different blues, but it seemed to work

Do You Stack Up #14

The challenge at Do you Stack Up was to follow the yellow Brick Road. I needed a bag for my confirmation present for my niece. So here is my yellow. I decided a cross would work for the center of my flowers. I just kept stamping the cross in the background until the ink ran out and then reinked. I also gave some texture to the flowers with a stylus.

MMSC #98

I need a confirmation card for my neice. I used the sketch from Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. This beautiful stamp is made by Paper Inspirations. I never use this stamp much because I just could not get a good image. I now know the trick. I used The Position it board. I stamped the image in a light tan, and then again in a a color several shades darker. I colored the image while still positioned on the board. I then kept stamping with the darker color until it looked like I wanted it to.

baby gift

This past week end I was at a local stamp store that also has gifts and saw a line of baby gifts that was adorable. They had made cupcakes out of onezies. This is my take on it. I made the bottom box --could have been a bit smaller. I cut strips and stamped and crimped the strips and then glued them in a circle. I then folded the onezie and fit it in the circle. I cut two shapes with a slice to put on the onzies that didn't have a design stitched on it.

Baby Card

This is a baby card for my son-in-law's sister. The fancy fold came from a friend in one of my Yahoo groups. The fold is so awsome, but I wish I would have had a little thinner paper. The stamps are Clear stamps that I had from The Paper Studio.

Delft Tile

The card uses the Delft Tile technique. I love the look, but did forget to add the gray marker for more highlights. Background stamp is from Stampin' Up. The teapot and doily are from Gina K Designs.

Watercolor over White

This technique was the Try it Thursday Challenge for Technique Junkies last week. The stamp I used for the background is from Rubbernecker. I stamped the image in white, colored it in places with watercolor pencils, used a blending pen to smooth out the coloring and added some gold highlight with a gel pen. I stamped the same design on the tag with a light color and added the sentiment.
